Fundamentals of Instructor Training (FIT) To introduce instructor candidates to the history, structure and activities of the American Red Cross. To prepare instructor candidates to teach American Red Cross specialty courses to diverse populations. To introduce instructor candidates to the policies and procedures of the American Red Cross to ensure course consistency, quality and appropriate training. This class is required PRIOR TO taking any instructor class. Call 810-766-6405 for more information or to register. FA/CPR/AED Instructor Course The First Aid/CPR/AED Program Instructor course is a methods class designed to train instructor candidates to teach American Red Cross First Aid/CPR/AED Program courses and modules. This is NOT a CPR/First Aid skills development class. Instructor candidates must possess strong skills and knowledge for Adult CPR/AED and First Aid (Infant/Child CPR optional) before registering for the class. Your skills and knowledge will be verified on the first date of the instructor course. If you do not demonstrate strong CPR/First Aid skills and pass a knowledge test with an 80% accuracy rating you will not be allowed to continue in the instructor course. No refunds will be provided. CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer Upgrade This class is designed for currently certified FA/CPR/AED Instructors who would like to add additional teaching authorizations. Bloodborne Pathogen Instructor Upgrade – Available to currently authorized Red Cross CPR and/or First Aid Instructors through a self-study.
